SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Police Department is raising awareness about the dangers and legal implications of excessively tinted car windows. In December 2017, New York State inspection guidelines were amended, now mandating that car windows must allow at least 70% of light to pass through, permitting a maximum tint of 30%.
