Syracuse, N.Y – About 500 potential students have reached out to Onondaga Community College about its new free-tuition program, and the school is beefing up its faculty to meet the uptick in demand.
That tuition program, called SUNY Reconnect, is intended to build interest in high-demand job fields like cybersecurity, nursing, AI, engineering and advanced manufacturing. Gov. Kathy Hochul included $47 million for it in her budget earlier this year.
