SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)– The Onondaga County Sheriff’s office wants you to be aware of a scam that involves criminals impersonating U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents or local law enforcement.
On July 25, 2025, the sheriff’s office posted information on their Facebook page about the border scam involved. The individuals impersonating U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents or local law enforcement are doing so to deceive individuals into providing personal information or money.
