Two men rescued from the water at Oneida Lake

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)– Two men were in the water for over 5 hours before being rescued at Oneida Lake.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on July 27, 2025, at about 2:25 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Unit went to a reported capsized vessel with a person in the water near Godfrey Point on Oneida Lake.

Before the Marine Unit arrived at the scene, a bystander had pulled the person to safety from the water to their vessel. It was then learned there was a second person in the vessel that was unaccounted for and still drifting in the water…
