Syracuse Police Animal Control warns of disease, deadly to dogs, spreading in city

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Police Department Animal Control Unit is warning the public about increasing numbers of parvovirus among dogs in the community.

In a Facebook post, the Department cautioned owners to recognize the dangers of parvovirus, also known as parvo. It’s a highly contagious and potentially deadly disease that affects unvaccinated dogs and puppies.
