SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — An antique trunk sat in the attic of Jeanne Johnson-Brown’s Syracuse home for more than a quarter of a century, until a summer cleanout, when she came across an extraordinary discovery.
“When my husband pulled it out, and he pulled out the pictures, I was like, wow! There they are! It felt natural that they were there the whole time. Like they were supposed to be there,” Johnson-Brown said.
Seven massive black and white portraits, from the late 1800s, were resting at the bottom of the trunk.
Immediately, Johnson-Brown wondered who these portraits belonged to and who their family was…
