Syracuse lawyer gives up license after fraud admission

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A defense attorney in Onondaga County has agreed to surrender her law license after admitting to professional misconduct by taking taxpayer money she didn’t earn.

Court documents obtained by NewsChannel 9 show attorney Marsha Hunt overbilled Onondaga County’s assigned counsel program. The taxpayer-funded program estimated the fraudulent amount to be around $160,000.
