SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The City of Syracuse has issued approximately 700 tickets since May 21 for drivers illegally passing stopped school buses, according to a recent update on the city’s school bus camera program.
The cameras are designed to capture vehicles that pass school buses when they are stopped. Photographic and video evidence collected by the cameras is sent to the Syracuse Police Department, where officers determine if a ticket should be issued.
