SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Vendors at the Great New York State Fair say their work begins long before the gates open, with preparations starting up to a year in advance.
Jody Conklin, a worker at Moose Goose Slush, said, “We start thinking about what we can do to prepare for the upcoming fair. Obviously, we move equipment eight to 10 days before the fair and try to prepare ourselves for the best 13 days of the summer.”
