Syracuse City School District spent $420,000 to buy portable A/C units for classrooms

Syracuse, N.Y. — The I-Team first reported on the Syracuse City School District buying more than 600 portable air conditioning units for classrooms back in June.

For the first time, CNY Central cameras were allowed into a Huntington Pre-K-8 classroom where one is installed. That school has a student population of 900. The district said each unit cost them around $700, which means at least $420,000 went toward getting them.

The money was budgeted from the facilities portion of the district’s budget…
