2 hospitalized after Syracuse fire: Two people were taken to a hospital after a fire Thursday afternoon in a Syracuse apartment. A woman was trapped with her 3-year-old daughter in their unit at Rugby Square Apartments on Fordham Road, according to Deputy Fire Chief James Farewell. A sex abuse survivor’s request granted: Chris Simons asked the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse to remove former Bishop Frank Harrison’s name from a Syracuse building, saying Harrison did nothing to stop a priest who abused him during his childhood in Central New York. Less than two weeks later, it was announced that the building would get a new name.
