Truck driver suffers broken back in Central NY crash, airlifted to Syracuse

Fleming, N.Y. – A truck driver suffered a broken back and other injuries Monday when his truck crashed into a ditch, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

The 64-year-old driver from Jefferson County was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, deputies said.

Around 11:14 a.m. Monday, the man was driving on Route 34 near Glanville Road when he swerved into a ditch, colliding with an earth embankment, the sheriff’s office said in a news release…
