Family, friends of woman killed in hit-and-run say driver’s short sentence is failure of law

Syracuse, N.Y. ― Family and friends of a woman who was killed in a hit-and-run called for changes in a law they say protects people who flee after crashes.

The woman’s killer was sentenced to 1 2/3 to 5 years in prison Wednesday.
