FULTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Syracuse Police Department is pushing for the City of Syracuse’s approval of a drone program to assist in high-priority calls. Police drones are already at work in the neighboring community of Fulton.
The Fulton Police Department has many uses for its drone program, besides fighting crime.
“It’s not just locating a suspect of an incident,” Lt. Jarrett Marino, with Fulton Police, said. “We use them for search and rescue operations. If there’s a vulnerable person that goes missing, like somebody with Alzheimer’s or dementia, that wanders off in a wooded area that we can’t quickly surveil.”…
