Lenny Schmidt says it felt like a movie — only real and terrifying. The factory owner told The Citizen that Thursday’s ICE raid on Nutrition Bar Confectioners in Ira was over-the-top and unwarranted.
He said agents stormed in with crowbars, dogs, and dune buggies, detaining 69 workers and treating everyone “like criminals.” Schmidt insists his employees are legally authorized and believes the raid targeted them because many are Hispanic.
