Teachers voice frustration after Syracuse City School District’s new payroll system glitches

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)—Teachers, faculty, and staff have had enough after the Syracuse City School District rolled out Oracle Cloud. This new payroll software has left some employees without paychecks, resulted in incorrect amounts, and caused others to face unexpected deductions.

The district’s staff were expecting their paycheck on Sept. 15, but when they checked their accounts, some discovered missing checks, delayed deposits, or incorrect payments and deductions.

Nicole Capsello, president of their union, the Syracuse Teachers Association, said that the issues have shaken SCSD’s staff, especially during times of financial struggle nationwide…
