Leader of Syracuse drug trafficking circle sentenced to 17.5 years in prison

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The United States Department of Justice announced on Sept. 29 that a Florida man was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison as the leader of a cocaine conspiracy.

The DOJ said that 49-year-old Juan Correa Sr. is one of four conspirators charged for shipping cocaine from Puerto-Rico to Syracuse.

In a prior guilty plea, Correa Sr. admitted to conspiring with others to distribute cocaine in Onondaga County between July 2021 and July 2024…
