DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — David Sokolic woke up to the sounds of sirens Sunday, Sept. 28. He lives a few minutes away from the Metalico metal recycling facility in DeWitt.
“I put the scanner on, and I heard it was down there. Then I came outside around 7:30, 8 o’clock, and you could see smoke all up in here,” Sokolic said. “Then after a little while you could smell burning rubber.”
