The initiative, which is a part of the Vision Zero program, involves the installation of speed cameras in school zones across the city. Sgt. Blake of the Syracuse Police Department explained that the department is reviewing every infraction to ensure its validity before issuing citations. “There’s a human element as well that’s gonna go back and look through these to make sure that the infraction in fact occur,” he said.
