Rescue Mission breaks ground on ‘Mission Exchange Building,’ expanding campus and opportunity

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)— Construction is now underway at the Rescue Mission’s Mission Exchange Building, located on Seymour Street on Syracuse’s Southwest side. The 45,000-square-foot expansion will combine retail, office, and warehouse space, designed to create new jobs and give local businesses room to grow.

Syracuse’s Rescue Mission CEO, Dan Sieburg, says the project came together with the City of Syracuse and the state’s support through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), for which the project was awarded $1.5 million.

The first floor will feature a walkable storefront with two to three retail spaces. One will house a new 3Fifteen boutique, the Rescue Mission’s retail shop that sells donated and repurposed clothing. The remaining storefronts will be available for other businesses to rent…
