SYRACUSE, N.Y. — “There are some ceremonial groundbreakings, and then there are real groundbreakings,” said Mayor Ben Walsh.
Around two weeks ago, the four parcels of land at the intersection of West Onondaga and Seymour Street were owned by the city. After they were transferred to the Rescue Mission, “I swear, the day that it happened, these machines were out here.”
Soon the site will host the Mission Exchange Building, a 45,000 sq. ft. mixed-use structure with office spaces, a 35,000 sq. ft. donation processing facility, and the 21st Rescue Mission thrift store in Upstate New York. Other retail storefronts will be available for lease as well…
