(WSYR-TV) — Each year, the second Monday in October celebrates and honors the culture of indigenous people in America.
This weekend, LaFayette High School students are engaging in culturally responsive, project-based learning to showcase their talents at the annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Festival. Haydenn Elijah, Lyle Johnson and Adaybria Edwards, along with festival committee member Simone Gonyea, joined Bridge Street for a sneak peek.
The festival will feature food and drink, featured artists/speakers/performers, arts and crafts for sale, community organizations, children’s activities and more.
The third annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Festival is this Sunday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Onondaga Nation Fieldhouse. The festival is free and open to the public…
