As healthcare hangs in the balance of shutdown, New York announces billions for hospitals

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Crouse Hospital in Syracuse will receive an undisclosed amount of money from the state to support a new partnership with Northwell Health.

The funds and the collaboration will help Crouse expand its outpatient network, bring its neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) up to modern standards, and construct a new lab for cardiac catheterization– the process of inserting instruments like catheters and pacemakers to monitor or improve heart health.

More funds from the state will go to Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Chemung County and Cayuga Health in Tompkins County, to enable their combination into Centralus Health, a new integrated care network.
