After construction shutdown, a downtown Syracuse pub reopens at just the right time

An unexpected month-long shutdown at a popular downtown pub is ending Friday just in time for a big weekend.

The Ale ‘n Angus Pub at 238 Harrison St. will reopen at 11 a.m. Friday for the first time since it closed on Sept. 18. That closing came after the pub’s landlord temporarily shut off utilities to the restaurant/bar during renovations to other parts of the building.

The timing couldn’t be better: The Ale ‘n Angus will be open for Saturday night’s home opener for the Syracuse Crunch hockey team, which plays at the nearby Upstate Medical University Arena at the Oncenter War Memorial…
