On Sept. 29, numerous local organizations and protesters, totaling over 140 people, gathered at the Bauman Center for Leadership and Service at 5 p.m. to voice their concerns on the New York State Energy Plan.
The New York State Energy Plan, in which lawmakers in Albany, N.Y. are outlining plans for how to power Long Island, New York City and upstate New York through 2040, is a critical piece of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s energy policy, which prioritizes an “all-of-the-above approach.” The plan will be used as an outline for what energy-related projects to fund throughout the state.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has been taking public comments across the state to better understand residents’ concerns on how it will power the future.
