Fire damages Eastwood building with businesses, apartments

Syracuse, N.Y. – A fire badly damaged a 2 1/2-story building in Eastwood on Monday afternoon, according to Syracuse firefighters.

The two-story building at 372 S. Midler Ave. suffered severe fire damage on the first floor and smoke damage to the rest of the building, according to Capt. Erik Caster, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Fire Department.

The building contains two businesses and an apartment on the first floor, as well as two apartments on the second floor, Caster said…
