An investigation is underway after a construction worker fell from a beam in a work zone along Interstate 481 in DeWitt on Thursday (October 30). The worker, involved in the I-81 Viaduct Project, fell near the bridge over the CSX railyard, where crews are converting I-481 into the new Interstate 81. Emergency services were immediately notified, and the worker was taken to a hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
According to WSYR-TV, the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has initiated an investigation into the incident.
