Stabbed Pit Bull ‘Chance’ Recovering at Syracuse Shelter After Near-Fatal Attack

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (CITRUSTV NEWS) — A pit bull found stabbed and left for dead on a Syracuse street is recovering at a local animal shelter, prompting an outpouring of community support and renewed concerns about animal cruelty.

The dog, now named Chance, was discovered near East Willow St more than a week ago with a stab wound to his left jugular vein, according to an urgent Facebook post by Humane CNY. Chance is now in the care of the shelter and is undergoing a process of healing and rehabilitation.
