NYS FAIRGROUNDS — The 18th Annual CNY Veterans Parade & Expo went on Saturday at the New York State Fairgrounds, but this year, no active military units participated because of the ongoing federal government shutdown.
Assemblyman William Magnarelli, who hosts the event, said Veterans Day remains about honoring those who served.
“It’s unfortunate the active military units that usually attend are unable to do so because of the ongoing federal financial uncertainty,” Magnarelli said. “We still have many people and organizations focused on thanking our veterans.”…
