Man rescued from sinking boat on Oneida Lake

SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A man was rescued from his sinking boat on Oneida Lake yesterday.

The Sylvan Beach Fire Department was called to Oneida Lake on Nov. 22, 2 p.m., after a caller reported that a boat had struck a rock pile and was taking on water.

The operator of the boat was navigating back into the Erie Canal when he hit the rocks and his boat became disabled, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said…
