SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse firefighters responded to two major emergencies on Butternut Street Sunday afternoon, including a gas line break caused by a car striking an apartment building and a second-alarm house fire just down the block. Both incidents displaced residents but resulted in no injuries, according to the Syracuse Fire Department.
Around 12:52 p.m., firefighters were called to 1312 Butternut Street after a vehicle struck the building and severed a 1–2 inch gas line, causing a significant active gas leak.
