Remember when Thanksgiving in CNY meant a Plainville turkey on your table?

Each year in early November, the family-owned Nichols food market in Liverpool puts this ad in its weekly flyer: “Now taking holiday orders: Plainville Farms fresh turkeys.”

Even though its been almost two decades since Plainville was a Central New York-based brand, the turkeys sell fast (and are already sold out).

“We sell hundreds of them,” said Nichols’ owner Mike Hennigan. “Every family has their food traditions, especially for holidays, and around here having a Plainville turkey for Thanksgiving is a big one.”
