New York Cracks Down On Unlicensed Cannabis Stores

A convenience store in Ulster County, NY, has been closed by New York State officials for allegedly selling cannabis items without a license.

The New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) has announced it has closed multiple stores across New York for unlicensed cannabis sales in Warren and Ulster County, NY.

Illegal Cannabis Sales in New York

Last week, the OCM announced it had begun an investigation into illegal cannabis sales at stores across New York after receiving multiple reports from concerned community members that they were selling illicit cannabis products and marketing them to individuals under 21.

Convenience Store Shut Down in Saugerties, NY

One of the stores under investigation was the Saugerties Convenience Store, located at 72 Partition Street in Saugerties, NY.

According to the OCM, investigators arrived at the Ulster County store on November 24th, 2025, and confirmed that the location was selling cannabis items without a license and was also advertising its products to underage customers…
