Update as of 2:30 p.m.: State police have elaborated on the details of the four crashes at Exit 4 on State Route 690 southbound in Van Buren:
First: A 17-year-old Syracuse driver struck the car of a Baldwinsville woman. The teen, who police ticketed for tailgating the other car, had some minor injuries, and an ambulance sent her to Upstate Medical Hospital.
Then: As traffic slowed on 690 as a result of the first crash, a Baldwinsville man rear-ended his truck into another truck, driven by an Oswego man, apparently because the sun’s glare impaired the Baldwinsville man’s vision. The impact of the crash pushed the Oswego man’s truck into a Phoenix man’s van. The Baldwinsville man’s truck then flew over one of the trucks’ trailers, hit the Oswego man’s truck again, and then hit a Fulton man’s Jeep. The Fulton man was injured and was sent to Upstate.…
