SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — One of the greenest days of the year in the city is on its way back, like it never left. The 2025 Syracuse St. Patrick’s Parade is in motion, with the reveal of this year’s Grand Marshals and Gael of the Year.
This year, Grand Marshals David and Cindy Hoyne, Tom Burke, Sophia Meskos, and Chow Downey, and Gael of the Year Jason Smorol, will lead the parade with its theme — “As Giving as the Irish.” A theme that celebrates the well-known generosity and hospitality of the Irish.
“Our Grand Marshals are the crew that founded and ran the highly successful St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser at Kitty Hoynes. Last year marked the 21st and final year of the event. In its two decades, the effort raised over $7 million to help find cures for children’s cancer,” said the Syracuse St. Patrick’s Parade Committee.
