SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A few viewers have contacted NewsChannel 9 wanting to know if it’s true that the Dollar General, located in the Valley Plaza, is closing.

“At Dollar General, we continually evaluate our stores and how we can best serve our customers. After a thorough review, we made the decision to close our location at 4141 South Salina Street in Syracuse, New York effective today, December 5, 2025. Impacted employees were offered an opportunity to transfer to a nearby store in the area,” A Dollar General spokesperson said in an email.
