SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A committee appointed by Health & Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. released new guidance on the hepatitis B vaccine on Friday.
The old guidance suggested administering the vaccine to newborns within hours of being born. But now, the committee said that it recommends that parents consider delaying the first dose of the vaccine until the child is at least two months old.
