Residents push back on Micron-linked housing plan

A proposed 436-unit housing development in Onondaga drew sharp criticism from locals Tuesday night, according to Syracuse.com. The project, tied to Micron’s coming jobs boom, would sit 20 miles from the Clay chip plant—too far, some argued, to make sense.

Neighbors packed the town hall to voice fears about blasting bedrock, flooding, and higher traffic. Others questioned whether locals could even afford rents that may top $2,700.
