NYS DEC on ways its protecting New Yorkers from Forever Chemicals

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)— The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is sharing ways it’s helping to protect New Yorkers from PFOAS and PFAS, also known as forever chemicals. These chemicals have been linked to health issues.

According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, also known as the DEC, a new study looked at soil in rural areas across the state.

“What we found is that PFAS is found are present in nearly every sample that we’ve taken during this soil study,” said Andrew Gugliemi.
