SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Discount Shoe Repair in downtown Syracuse held its annual shoe drive on Thursday morning. More than 45,000 shoes were donated, a record.
Now in its 15th year, the community was encouraged to donate old and broken shoes ahead of time. The shoes were repaired and restored before they were distributed to the Rescue Mission Alliance, an organization that assists people with shelter and basic needs.
