New York (WRGB) — Governor Hochul announced the results of a series of toll enforcement operations conducted this fall on the New York State Thruway, targeting drivers who repeatedly evade tolls or use fraudulent and obstructed license plates.
According to the governor’s office, New York State Police Troop T, working in partnership with the New York State Thruway Authority, carried out four enforcement details across Albany, the Hudson Valley, and Syracuse. During those operations, troopers seized 170 vehicles and issued more than 1,000 tickets.
State officials say 30 of the impounded vehicles had suspended registrations and were linked to nearly $82,000 in unpaid tolls and fees owed to the Thruway Authority. As of now, approximately $38,000, about 46% of the total owed, has been recovered from 16 vehicle owners…
