ONONDAGA COUNTY — The New York State Department of Transportation is busy on Tuesday, plowing roads as heavy lake-effect snowfall falls over parts of Central New York.
The Department of Transportation said it has plowed and salted more than 7,000 lane miles of roads in Onondaga County in the last 24 hours. A “lane mile” is the length of the roadway multiplied by the number of lanes.
The DOT said its crews are working in 12-hour shifts. One shift is from midnight to noon and the other shift works from noon to midnight…
