Syracuse, N.Y. — The lake effect snowstorm closing out 2025 was a record-breaker, dropping more than 2 feet of snow in the Syracuse area.
As predicted, northwest winds blowing at 50 mph or more over Lake Ontario left a narrow trail of deep snow through Onondaga, Madison and Oneida counties.
