SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — One year after a janitor was found dead inside a charter high school, the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to NewsChannel 9 that his cause of death was unrelated to the carbon monoxide leak happening at the same time.
DA Bill Fitzpatrick said that while Brian DeForge was exposed to some level of carbon monoxide while inside the Syracuse Academy of Science High School, he died of heart failure. There wasn’t enough CO in his blood to be deadly, an autopsy showed.
