Syracuse, NY – The man sent to save a notorious Syracuse nursing home knew he had two years to right the ship before the feds shut it down.

It was November 2023 and the Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, on James Street, had already spent a year and a half on a federal list of 88 nursing homes in jeopardy of closure for poor care.

In a last-ditch effort, New York state for the first time sent an independent quality monitor to the huge James Street facility, forcing its owners to pay the hefty bill for his services…
