Update 4:50pm: The Town of LaFayette is asking residents to stay home and off roadways for the next 6 to 8 hours following an activation of their emergency response plan. The town says they’re also assisting through the American Red Cross and the LaFayette School System with possible lodging and meals for those stranded in the Town as travelers or residents. If you’re stranded, call Supervisor Bill McConnell at 315-391-8167 to arrange for 911 assistance in the Town.

The Tully Fire Department is reporting a vehicle pileup between 20 to 40 vehicles on I81 Southbound near the truck weigh station between LaFayette and Tully. According to Tully Fire, 12 ambulances have been dispatched to the scene and the Onondaga County Department of Emergency Management has been activated. Mutual aid from Preble Rescue was also requested at the scene.
“At this time, traffic is significantly impacted in the area as emergency crews work to clear the scene and assist those involved. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible. Traffic is being detoured off at Exit 73, with motorists directed to take State Route 20 to US-11.” Public Information Officer for Troop D of the New York State Police, Jennifer Jiron said in a release.…
