First look: The Cider Mill owners open a bread-forward cafe on Syracuse’s West Side

Syracuse, N.Y. — There’s a tiny house tucked behind The Cider Mill, and for years it was easy to miss. You might have driven past it a hundred times without giving it much thought.

That little house is now The Clerk’s House, a new bakery and cafe that opens Wednesday. It might quietly change how the West Side eats.

Dan and Teresa Seeley, who opened the Cider Mill restaurant more than 23 years ago, actually lived here for a decade with three kids, a dog and a cat. The house is 128 years old.
