Arctic blast to bring dangerous wind chills to Central NY on Tuesday

Central New York residents should prepare for dangerous wind chills and strong winds on Tuesday as an arctic air mass plunges into the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory for portions of Central New York from 10 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday. Wind chills are expected to drop between minus-five and minus-20 degrees Tuesday morning as temperatures fall into the single digits and teens, coupled with strong winds.

A winter weather advisory is also in effect for northern Oneida County from 1 p.m. Monday to 1 a.m. Wednesday, where a narrow band of lake effect snow could produce several inches of accumulation…
