Syracuse Police reviewing ‘use of force’ incident on South Salina Street

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Police Department said it is investigating an arrest under its “use of force” policy on Thursday.

The police department said around 7:13 p.m. on Jan. 21, officers and deputies with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office were working a gun violence detail when they tried to detain a suspect, 22, in the 1100 block of South Salina St.

The department said officers tried to detain the suspect, but they refused commands to leave his vehicle. Police said he continued not comply when he got out of it…
