Syracuse, N.Y. — Less than a week after the Syracuse school board unanimously voted to remove Commissioner Twiggy Billue, Billue on Saturday announced she will appeal the decision.
The school board voted to remove Billue from the board after an investigation found she violated the rules of entering a school and attempted to change her grandson’s teacher. Billue said her elementary-age grandson, who she helps care for, has been bullied for two years.
